Returners
We aim to recruit from all aspects of the community. This enables us to build a workforce that is representive of its residents.
One area of the employment market the County Council feels it can recruit from is people who have had a career break. Whatever the reason for the break, along with partners such as the Employment Training Services and local colleges, we work hard to help people to return to work.
We recognise that some people may need to update their skills to gain access back into the employment market. So, through our partners, the County Council offers help to enable people to gain the skills they require to gain a job with us.
Employment Training Services
The Employment Training Services Team (ETS) at the County Council works in Partnership with Jobcentre Plus.
Employment Training Services makes a positive contribution to up-skilling the unemployed, including those most disadvantaged in the labour market such as ex-offenders, drug dependants, lone parents, etc, and assisting them back into the workplace promotes safer, stronger and healthier communities, where individuals from all age groups make a positive contribution both to society and the economy.
Employment Training Services is dedicated to working towards the government's aspirational target of an 80% employment rate.
