The Communications Unit
In the Communications Unit, we specialise in getting the message across in a professional and effective way, making sure that we hit the right audience, at the right time and in the right way.
- We help the County Council’s services achieve their goals by:
- Organising high impact campaigns and events
- Producing professional, eye-catching publications and promotional material
- Writing clear, concise and to-the-point copy
- Right up to planning and implementing a full-blown marketing strategy.
From publicising a success story to launching and running a county-wide media campaign, we issue over 500 press releases every year. We keep in daily contact with local and national radio, TV and newspaper journalists, as part of a proactive media management and public relations service.
The Reporter magazine, currently produced by the Communications Unit twice a year, carries our message to every household in North Yorkshire.
The Communications Unit also offers a specialist in-house research and consultation service. We have loads of experience in postal and on-line customer and employee surveys, providing a complete planning, questionnaire design, analysis and report writing service.
Recent survey work has been carried out in internal communications, equal opportunities, best value reviews, childcare provision, recruitment and selection and health and safety.
- External client organisations include:
- Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority
- National Trading Standards Survey
- District Councils
