1) What is your current job role?

Assistant Finance & Administration Manager

2) When did you first take an interest in this area of work?

Our Assistant Manager left but we didn’t replace her due to a lack of finances. I noticed after a while that the Finance & Administration Manager had a lot of work on, so I offered to take on a bit of his work.

3) What are your main responsibilities?

Running the office; training staff; looking after the computers; assisting the Managers; attending meetings.

4) What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the variety of things to do in my job as no two days are the same. I also enjoy liaising with other departments

5) What do you dislike most about your job?

  • Chasing my ----!!
  • Also not having enough time to do my job properly, I feel like I’m fire fighting all the time so I have no time to think of new things.
  • I seem to take more on more work constantly, but not able to offload anything.

6) What attributes and/or skills do you need to do your job well?

You need to have thick skin and be able to think quickly

7) What experience, qualifications or training do you need to do your job?

You need office experience, knowledge of word and excel, plus basic catering and hygiene knowledge.

8) What is your typical day?

Doing stats, setting up new products, sorting the post, CRBs, going to meetings, answering phones sorting any personnel problems within the office and anything else that anyone wants me to do.

9) What is the work environment like?

Busy and pleasant but it does have a tendency to get very messy.

10) What are the benefits of doing the job you do?

Its nice seeing something come to fruition and I work in a very flexible office

12) What would be the typical next move from your position? Is this your planned next move?

13) What’s your ultimate goal and career aspiration?

  • 1. To make the office as it should be.
  • 2. To earn the salary I think I’m worth.
  • 3. To see everything work smoothly

Go for it; just make sure you are adaptable
